“LIGHTNING OPERATION” BY AREGGER AG AT A DEFECTIVE RICE SILO

21. November 2022

An unusual incident occurred in a rice silo at the end of July. The stored rice piled up in one of the many chambers. During an attempt to loosen it, 30 tonnes of rice fell into the depths at once, causing massive overpressure that ultimately tore a large hole in the silo wall. A case for Aregger AG. When the telephone request came in on Friday, the team pulled out all the stops and was already ready for action on Monday. Machine operator Stefan Gwerder used the PC 750 to take out a chunk of the defective wall matching the size of the affected silo chamber. The hole could then be concreted over again. After a little more than a day, the “lightning operation” was over. Thanks to Aregger AG's flexible inventory park, it was possible to react swiftly to the event and carry out the work as quickly as possible with maximum safety for all involved.
